THREE roads in Warrington are set to be closed for filming next month – weeks after a big name actor was spotted in the town.

Warrington Borough Council has confirmed that closures will be in place in October.

This is through the publishing of a Road Traffic Regulation Act temporary prohibition of driving order.

Pickering Crescent in Thelwall is set to be closed, along with Cotswold Road and Chiltern Road in Orford.

The former is to be closed on October 1, from its junction with Stanton Road to its junction with Woodlands Drive.

Both Cotswold Road and Chiltern Road will be shut on October 6, with the former from its junction with Poplars Avenue to its junction with Cheviot Avenue, and the latter from junctions with Cotswold Road and Lancing Avenue.

The notice states that the prohibition of driving order will be effective as and when signed on site.

A council spokesman said: “The closures are required to allow filming to take place.”

Pickering Crescent recently welcomed Sean Bean, with crews believed to be filming at a house for the upcoming title Avelyn, in which he is playing the role of an ex-soldier.

A legend of TV and film, he is perhaps best known for his roles in the likes of Lord of the Rings, Sharpe, Time and the James Bond film Goldeneye.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Warrington is a wanted area for film crews, with the council stating that it receives ‘multiple enquiries’ each year.

Most recently, cameras were spotted at Walton Hall and Gardens, and back in January, film crews took over Orford for the Sky One comedic drama series Brassic.
