AN EXTREMELY popular light show is set to make its grand return for the festive season – and tickets are already selling quickly.
The Light Before Christmas: Starlight will return to Liverpool Cathedral once again this year to light up the festive season.
The show has been sold out for the past two years and is set to be bigger and brighter than ever.
Created by internationally renowned team from Luxmuralis and will be an immersive light and sound experience.
“We are delighted to return to create our third Christmas light show in the cathedral,” said Peter Walker, sculptor and creative director or Luxmuralis.
“The partnership we have together helps us create one of the largest immersive experiences anywhere in the world, and to welcome tens of thousands of visitors. ‘Starlight’ will bring the cathedral to life with light and sound art on an epic scale, and will be a wonderful experience for families and people of all ages
“Indeed, it’s becoming a bit of a tradition in Liverpool to visit and experience the cathedral in a different light each year in the build up to Christmas.”
The breath-taking visual journey will be accompanied by the stunning backdrop of the cathedral’s historic architecture.
Telling the Nativity story in a new way, the light show promises to capture the hearts of young and old alike.
“We are delighted to see the return of the Light Before Christmas for its third year,” said the Very Reverend Dr Sue Jones, Dean of Liverpool.
“We know how it has become a Christmas tradition for so many families, so we asked Luxmuralis to return with a brand new story to celebrate our centenary year.
“The Light Before Christmas: Starlight will offer visitors a different way of engaging with the Nativity story that people enjoy and love. It offers the perfect opportunity for people of all ages to come together and enjoy a festive experience.”
The show will make its return to Liverpool Cathedral on Friday, November 29 and run until Saturday, December 7.
Tickets start at £7.70 for children between three to 16 and £10.45 for adults, and they are already selling quickly, so early booking is advised.
“We are delighted to continue to team up with the incredibly talented artists at Luxmuralis to produce another year of the much-anticipated light before Christmas show,” said Alissa Koopal, the cathedral’s director of enterprise.
“The 2024 edition Starlight allows audiences from near and far the unique experience to explore Liverpool Cathedral and the Nativity story in a way like no other. We are so pleased that this unique immersive experience has become a true highlight in so many people’s Christmas celebrations.”
