TODAY is national fitness day – the most active day of the year!
Gyms and fitness instructors across Warrington will be holding events throughout the day aimed at encouraging more people to enjoy the benefits of physical activity.
National Fitness Day is an annual campaign by ukactive and once again, the theme is 'Your Health is for Life'.
Organisers are hoping the day will highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, and help to raise awareness as it comes hot on the heels of the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris over the summer.
The nation’s most active day of the year promises to be the biggest yet with fun and diversity at its heart.
Last year, 10.2 million people in the UK were directly motivated to participate in some form of activity on National Fitness Day, whether for the first time or for the hundredth time.
The campaign had a global media reach of 57.2 million, with 31.3 million engaging on social media.
Earlier this year, nominations flooded in when we were searching for Warrington’s Best Fitness Instructor and the town’s Best Gym.
Tommy O’Connor from Rock Steady Boxing W&W was crowned Best for Fitness and Ryfields Gym took the title of Best Gym for the third year in a row.
