ARMED police descended on a residential road.
Cheshire Police sent armed officers to Barsbank Lane in Lymm on Saturday (September 14).
It follows reports of two men on scooters wearing balaclavas and carrying a suspected imitation firearm.
However, despite carrying out a search of the area, no suspects could be found.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At 12.15pm on Saturday, police were called to Barsbank Lane in Lymm following reports of two males on scooters wearing balaclavas and carrying a suspected imitation firearm.
“Police attended and made a thorough search of the area.
“No one was located and there were no further reports.”
Eyewitnesses reported seeing armed response vehicles travelling at ‘high speed’ in the Lymm area at around midday on Saturday.
