JUST weeks after its official reopening, Broomfields Swimming Pool was forced to close again due to a ‘technical issue’.

Parents preparing to take their children for swimming lessons at the Appleton facility on Saturday morning were met with disappointment after LiveWire announced on social media that the pool would be closed.

This comes after the swimming pool was forced to shut down with little notice back at the start of July after experiencing ‘heating issues’.

While initially LiveWire stated that the problem would be resolved ‘quickly’, the closure escalated into a month-long ordeal that required work to be undergone to fix faulty heating sensors.

With the pool finally reopening on August 10 to the public and swimming lessons resumed.

In the most recent closure to date, an announcement was made on social media on Friday.

A spokesperson from LiveWire said: “Unfortunately, due to a technical issue with Broomfields leisure centre’s swimming pool, we have had to cancel swimming lessons tomorrow morning.

“We will continue works with our contractor to get the pool back up and running as soon as possible - we’ll update again tomorrow.”

A further update followed on Saturday to say that as of 1pm the pool would be reopened following “remedial works this morning”.

Anyone who missed out on swimming lessons from the morning will be credited, LiveWire confirmed.
