A LIFELONG Warrington Wolves supporter and care home resident has enjoyed a day trip to cheer on her team at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Joyce Woods, who is a resident at Cheshire Grange Care Home in Lymm, has followed the Wire for the past seven decades.
Her passion for the sport and her home team saw her play an active volunteering role for The Supporters Trust, fundraising for young academy players.
Joyce has travelled across the country to support the team, and enjoyed a day trip from the care home to see the most recent game against St Helens.
Joined by a carer and volunteer, Joyce enjoyed the afternoon cheering on the team to victory, with Warrington Wolves beating St Helens 16-2.
“We strive to help keep residents connected to their interests and hobbies, because you are living in a care home doesn’t mean you have to stop doing things that were such a big part of your life,” said Jo Eland, activities coordinator.
“We love seeing the joy these ‘Sunshine Moments’ bring to our residents.”
