FOG is set to cause issues on the roads in Cheshire.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning covering large parts of the county.
It is expected that ‘dense’ fog will cause slower journey times on the roads on Monday morning (September 16).
Delays to bus services are also possible, with the chance of delays or cancellations to flights as well.
“It is looking like one of the first occasions in autumn 2024 when we will see more widespread fog developing overnight and lasting well into the morning,” reads the Met Office website.
“Some of this could be quite dense, making journey times longer.”
The yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office at 10.18am on Sunday (September 15).
It comes into place at 5am on Monday and is expected to last until 10am.
It covers almost the entirety of Cheshire, including Warrington, Runcorn, Northwich, Winsford and Knutsford.
Motorists are advised to leave extra time for their journeys or amending their plans if necessary.
Drivers should also check their fog lights are working before setting off.
“Bus and train services, as well as flights and ferry travel may also be affected; check for updates from your travel company and follow their advice,” the Met Office has stated.
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change. The Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
