A PERSON has been taken to hospital after a house fire.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Warrington in the early hours of this morning following reports of a house on fire.
Two crews, one each from the Lymm and Warrington stations, arrived at Loushers Lane at around 1.37am.
One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being taken to hospital.
It is understood the blaze was caused by an extension cable.
A CFRS spokesperson said: “A fire in the ground floor of a property was put out by firefighters in breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet.
“Gas and electricity supplies were isolated and a high pressure fan operated to clear smoke.
“One casualty was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital as a precaution.
“Following a fire investigation the cause is believed to be an electrical extension cable.”
