WARRINGTON has the third highest population of people that suffer from a mould allergy in the UK.

As the colder months approach, dampness and mould can be a reoccurring issue, producing allergens, irritants and other toxins.

There are currently two million people living in the UK living with significant damp or mould issues, according to Directgov.

Exposure to this can trigger respiratory issues for those allergic, including asthma attacks and sinus infections.

Research carried out by Allevia, an airborne allergy relief medication, has revealed that almost one in five people in the UK are allergic to mould – and 33 per cent of these people live in Warrington.

According to this research, which surveyed 1,000 people, one in three residents in Warrington report to be allergic to mould, and half of them say that this allergy impacts their daily lives.

Of these residents, 67 per cent said they maintain a clean home in order to prevent mould related flare ups.
