A NEW brow salon has just opened and the owner with more than 20 years’ experience under her belt promises to thread your brows to perfection in just five minutes.
Bringing some much-needed warmth to the drizzling streets of Warrington, Sunflower Brow Bar opened its doors this week on Lovely Lane.
Its owner and the sole employee at the shop, Renu Singh told the Warrington Guardian about her choice to take the leap and open up her own premises, after her booming business outgrew her spare bedroom.
The mum-of-two, from Great Sankey, has more than two decades of experience as a brow technician having formerly owned her own beauty salon on her home-turf of Delhi in India.
Renu, 42, ran her brow salon in Delhi for six years before marrying and moving over to England to live permanently in 2007.
“I trained in India to do brows; it is also popular over there to have them done but the method of threading is more favoured while in England waxing is more common – this is starting to change though.”
She continued: “I set up my own brow business in my spare room in 2019. Before that, when I first moved to England I began working at Debenhams in Chester while still living in Warrington.
“I learnt in Debenhams about good customer service and got lots of experience there. After six months I was a manager and was teaching people how to do brows.”
The salon-owner spoke of how she has built up a strong clientele in the last five years and with two boys at home, her youngest 10 and eldest 13, space was becoming an issue, so she finally made the choice to move to a commercial premises.
Sunflower Brow Bar offers predominantly brow lamination and threading. But you can also have treatments such as lash lifts and tinting too.
And Renu is not messing around when it comes to her trade, admitting through her years of experience that she can now thread brows in just five minutes. “I have honed my skills,” she says.
She also emphasised the benefits of threading over the popular method of waxing. “With threading, you get easy definition and there is no irritation or skin reaction like there is with waxing.”
Referring to pricing, the owner stated that despite moving into a commercial premises and the financial strains of that, she will not be increasing her ‘very reasonable’ prices.
“When I first started my threading service in Warrington, I charged £5, years on I still only charge £5 and this will not change. I want to look after my customers, especially in such difficult financial times.”
To find out more on prices and to book an appointment visit her Facebook page at Sunflower Brow Bar – visits are strictly on an appointment basis.
While the main space in the salon will be dedicated to all thing’s brows, Renu has two further large rooms available to rent.
And she is also on the search for self employed women to join her team who specialise in nails, facials, hair and make up on a monthly contract basis.
