A MAIN route through Warrington is set for a reduced speed over the coming weeks.
Warrington Borough Council has published a Road Traffic Regulation Act notice for the A5061 Knutsford Road, as well as Wash Lane in Latchford.
This imposes a temporary prohibition of driving, clearway and 20mph speed limit order.
The prohibition of driving will cover Wash Lane heading northbound only, from Prescott Street to Knutsford Road.
The clearway meanwhile is also on Wash Lane, from Prescott Street to Knutsford Road, and on Knutsford Road itself heading westbound, from Wash Lane to Black Bear Bridge.
A temporary 20mph speed limit is to be introduced on Knutsford Road heading westbound, from Wash Lane to Black Bear Bridge.
The order will be effective from October 14 for four weeks, between 9.30am and 3pm, as and when signed on site.
The alternative route will be via Station Road, Grammar School Road and Knutsford Road.
A council spokesman said: “The restrictions are required for footway surfacing and dropped pedestrian crossing improvements.”
