A MENTAL health living room will be based in Warrington town centre for two weeks.

Warrington in Mind (WiM) is an alliance of Warrington-based voluntary and community groups and organisations set up last year to help coordinate and deliver mental health support services in community settings.

An aim of the collaboration was to enable the groups to understand the current gaps in provision better and provide new initiatives that could support peoples' mental wellbeing.

Over the next month, a number of public events are being delivered by WiM – including a pop-up living room in the Golden Square.

This will provide the opportunity for WiM members to talk to shoppers about what groups and services are available to them, friends and family members.

A spokesperson for the initiative said: “There are some amazing community groups and organisations in Warrington that play a vital part in supporting people's mental health, often providing much-needed intervention for people and the living room will help raise the profile of these groups.”

The mental health living room will based outside of TK Maxx for the next two weeks.

There will be different groups available to chat throughout this period from 10am to 4pm.

There will also be a book swap library to encourage people to take five minutes to have a rest and a chat if they need to.
