A SUSPECT has been named by the courts after being charged with stealing cuddly toys.
Cheshire Police confirmed last month that it had arrested two people on suspicion of theft from a shop in Warrington town centre on a Saturday afternoon.
It was alleged that they stole cuddly toys from Waterstones in Golden Square Shopping Centre.
Peter Allen has now been charged in connection with the incident.
The 64-year-old, of Lorne Court in Birkenhead, Wirral, has been charged with theft from a shop.
The particulars of the charge allege that, on August 10 in Warrington, he stole Jellycat plush toys to the value of between £150 and £200 belonging to Waterstones.
Allen is due to make a first appearance in relation to the charge before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
