A FREE CPR compression-only training day will be taking place in Birchwood.
Valli Optometry and Audiology, located in Birchwood Shopping Centre, will be hosting the event with the aim of equipping residents with essential life-saving skills.
The training day, which is taking place on Saturday, October 19, from 10am to 1pm, will feature:
- 10-minute CPR compression-only training sessions
- Defibrillator demonstrations
- Expert instruction from Ron Gemmell of Outdoor Approach First Aid
It is open to all members of the public.
"We believe that everyone should have access to basic life-saving skills," said James Houlihan, manager of Valli Optometry and Audiology.
"By hosting this event, we hope to empower our community and potentially save lives in the future."
Attendees will benefit from hands-on training and expert guidance, learning the fundamentals of CPR compressions and how to use a defibrillator effectively.
The short, 10-minute sessions are designed to accommodate busy schedules while providing valuable knowledge.
Complimentary refreshments, including tea, coffee, and cake, will be available throughout the event.
