TWO existing residential houses in Chapelford could become children’s care homes.
Plans have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department seeking a change of use for the dwellings.
Both are neighbouring properties on Somerville Walk, off Boston Boulevard, with the scheme proposed by applicant Omega Care Group
The applications are for a change of use from residential dwelling to children's care home.
Omega Care says it is 'committed to providing a high standard of care to children and young people throughout the service'.
At full occupancy, there would be two children in each home, supported by a team of six residential staff on a rolling rota, with two staff members sleeping in at night.
“Generally, on a day-to-day basis, the home runs as a family home. Children will be supported to rise, follow their morning routine, have breakfast and attend education," documents state.
“Managers at Omega Care build excellent relationships with neighbours, and are accessible to discuss any concerns they have, and any positive feedback, which would be more common.
“There is a complaints procedure that any person can follow should they require this, albeit to date Omega has not had a neighbour complaint for any of the its six homes.”
The applications are with the council to be decided in due course.
