A ‘HANDSOME’ bulldog is still looking for his forever home after being stuck in a rescue shelter for the past 18 months.

Warrington Animal Welfare says Oscar's story is one of 'resilience and hope', with the three-year-old bulldog cross coming into its care in February 2023.

He was ‘heartlessly abandoned’ by his previous owner, arriving at the centre, off Slutchers Lane near the town centre, ‘emaciated, scared and in desperate need of love’

Thanks to a caring foster home, Oscar has now started to regain his strength and trust in people.

Now back at the kennels, he has been working closely with a professional to rebuild his confidence.

“Oscar is looking for a special, experienced, adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He thrives in a calm environment where he can be his independent self,” staff said.

“He is housetrained, non-destructive and sleeps soundly through the night.

“While he is strong on the lead, he quickly settles down and enjoys running and playing in a secure field.

“Oscar also does well around other dogs when out and about and travels nicely in the car.

“Oscar is a unique character, seeking interaction on his own terms. He is not just a dog – he is a survivor who deserves a second chance at a happy life.

“Warrington Animal Welfare will continue to support his new family as he adjusts to his forever home.

“If you think you can provide the loving, stable environment that Oscar needs, please complete an application form and we will be in touch.
