COMMUNITY dementia specialist Belong Warrington held a Gatsby-themed celebration to mark its 10th birthday.

The party at the Loushers Lane care village in Latchford featured live entertainment from singer Danni B, a wide selection of food and drink, and some jazz age dancing.

The ladies dressed in high flapper fashion featuring sequins, feathers and fringe dresses, with gentlemen wearing suits, braces and fedoras.

Guests of honour, Cllr Mo Hussain, Deputy Mayor of Warrington, and Councillor Leah Hussain kicked off the gala with a toast and presented gifts to ten stalwarts: five customers and five colleagues who had been living or working in the village from day one.

Apartment tenant Diane Wrench said: “It’s been wonderful. We have a lovely singer, fantastic food, and everyone looks beautiful.”

Maureen Jones, another apartment tenant, added: “We’ve all dressed up for the occasion; it’s absolutely marvellous.”

Belong Warrington opened in 2014, offering a not-for-profit alternative approach to care with its 24-hour residential ‘households’ model and village living concept.

Amenities and experiences open to the public, including a bistro, a specialist gym, and a salon, have made the community a destination hub for the local area.

With the launch of a day care service, Experience Days, and a community home care service, Belong at Home, has continued to grow.

General manager at Belong Warrington Barry Devine commented: “We’ve had brilliant time partying, remembering many joyful moments from over the years and doing what we do best: making our customers happy. Cheers to ten years and here’s to another wonderful decade!”
