FOUR separate road or footpath notices were notified in this week's Warrington Guardian.

Such notices are published weekly in the paper by Warrington Borough Council to warn users in advance.

This week saw closure notices issued in Orford, Appleton and Great Sankey forewarned.

Here are the notices in date order:

Birdwell Drive and Mapplewell Crescent, Great Sankey

A closure will be imposed on the entire length of the segregated footways on Birdwell Drive and Mapplewell Crescent in Great Sankey.

The order will be effective from Wednesday, September 18, for two weeks, as and when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works, with an alternative routes signed on site.

The closures are required to allow Scottish Power to carry out mains renewal works.

Earl Street and Clegg Street, Orford

A prohibition of driving order will be imposed on Earl Street and Clegg Street in Orford.

The former will be from its junction with Longford Street to its junction with St Benedict’s Close, with the latter from its junction with Earl Street to its junction with Orford Lane.

The order will be effective from Monday, September 23, for eight weeks, as and when signed on site.

The works will be carried out in phases, with only one street closed at any one time.

Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works, with an alternative routes signed on site.

The closures are required to allow Scottish Power to carry out mains renewal and service transfer works.

Lumb Brook Road, Appleton

A prohibition of driving order will be imposed on Lumb Brook Road in Appleton.

This will be on the unclassified section, from its junction with the classified section of Lumb Brook Road to Witherwin Avenue.

An unclassified road is a road in the lowest class of the UK road classification system, and is considered to be too minor to be given a classification number.

Unclassified roads are typically local roads that are intended for local traffic

The order will be effective from Monday, September 23, for a day, as and when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works.

The closure is required to allow EE to carry out essential maintenance works on its telecommunication equipment.

Hobb Lane, Appleton

A prohibition of driving order will be imposed on Hobb Lane in Appleton.

This will be from its junction with Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton.

The order will be effective from Tuesday, September 24, for three days between 9.30am and 5pm, as and when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via Chester Road, Runcorn Road and vice versa.

The closure is required to allow Openreach to carry out customer connection works.
