A POPULAR Glazebury garden centre has been recognised as stellar workplace by its employees.

Following an independent survey, Bents Garden and Home, which is on Warrington Road, has been recognised as a great workplace.

The extensive survey was carried out by Great Place to Work, which is the global authority on workplace culture.

Members of staff at Bents were invited to answer confidential questions to help measure the garden centre’s success against other top performing companies.

Bents surpassed the benchmark requirement to be certified as a great workplace with 91 per cent of employees reporting that they felt welcome when joining the company.

Nine out of 10 members of staff also reported that they feel they are treated fairly, regardless of their sex, sexual orientation or race.

“We are incredibly proud to have achieved this recognition,” said Matthew Bent, managing director at Bents Garden and Home.

“Everything about Great Place to Work aligns with our approach to colleagues and our fundamental belief in the importance of our people.

“We consider each and every colleague to be part of the wider Bents’ family and we strive on being an exceptional place to work.”

An impressive 66 per cent of employees at Bents say that the garden centre is a great place to work,12 per cent more than the average company.

“We were delighted to share this fantastic news with our colleagues and leaders and are looking forward to this opportunity for us to identify ways we can improve things even more for our colleagues in our strive to being exceptional, which we can monitor in our results again next year,” said Matthew.
