A WARRINGTON-born rock group is to go on their first UK headline tour after becoming online sensations.

Crawlers are an alternative rock group that first formed in 2018, launching their debut in small gigs in Liverpool.

But the band has deep roots in Warrington, with guitarist, Amy Woodall, and bassist, Liv May hailing from the town.

After meeting at St Gregory’s Catholic School in Great Sankey, the pair were in a band together and went on to form Crawlers with Harry Breen and Holly Minto.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian in 2022, Amy said: “We are a ‘northern band’ for sure. I mean, we would say we are from Liverpool, but we are not, we are from Warrington.

“When we were first getting started, we did everything in Warrington really; our first gigs were in Warrington, our rehearsals were in Warrington.”

The band went viral on TikTok in 2021 with their song Come Over (Again), which now has more than 65,000 posts with it in the background.

Crawlers now have a combined following on social media of nearly 800,000 followers, and they released their debut album, The Mess We Seem to Make, in February.

The album peaked at number seven on the UK charts earlier this year, and off the back of its success the band has announced its first UK headline tour.

“We have been waiting for the perfect time to do our first headline in the UK with an album in the world – we cannot wait to get back on the road,” said the band.

The Mess We Seem to Make tour will kick off in Glasgow on December 2 before heading to Gorilla in Manchester on December 3, and Liverpool’s O2 Academy on December 4.

Crawlers will conclude the tour in London on December 7, shortly after they play Birmingham on December 6.
