CHAOTIC scenes are emerging from a turbulent start to the festival weekend for those attending Creamfields.

High winds of up to 70mph have been experienced by festival goers who travelled to the site last night, Thursday, for what was set to be the start of a great weekend of music.

And those attending to work at the site have been battling the dramatic weather conditions from the early hours of this morning, Friday.

Dramatic footage sent in by workers at a food stall in Creamfields show the food tents lifting off the ground as caterers frantically try to pin the stalls to the ground.

The footage shows the high winds battering the food tents, namely a Chinese and churros stall, as one worker, who wishes to remain anonymous, films his other colleagues attempting to salvage the covers of the tents and the items surrounding them, at around 6am this morning.

In one of the clips sent into the Warrington Guardian, the individual reports that the churros stall blew away with the wind, despite all the best efforts of the vendors.

Damaged equipment can also be seen scattered along the ground of the campsite.

This comes after the festival put out an announcement this morning to state that there would be delays in visitors being able to access the sights due to the high winds and extreme weather conditions.

In the statement, Creamfields organisers stated: “Due to the high wind conditions onsite, there will be a delay to public arenas and gates opening.

“For customers who have already arrived on site today, please remain in your vehicles for safety until gates open. We expect the high winds to pass by mid-morning.

“Please follow our social channels and App notifications for updates. Thanks for your patience.”

Social media platforms including X have also been flooded with footage of festival goers battling against the high winds, while tents hold on for dear life.

In one clip posted online, a camper is seen clinging onto their tent as it dismantles from the grounds and blows in different directions with the wind.

The extreme high winds are forecast to reside this afternoon.
