Do you remember Tetley Walkers on Winwick Road?

The famous old brewery was a workplace for thousands of people down the years until it closed in 1998.

As well as a landmark the building, which is now where The Halliwell Jones Stadium stands, was known for the smells it generated.

Here are some of your memories of the place.

I worked there from the age of 15 till I left 1982 in the bottling stores it was a family thing as my dad and other family members .

My dad, Lee Sheen, worked there until it closed driving a forklift truck in the keg plant. He died last month. As kids in the 70s, Tetley’s would take us to the Davenport Theatre in Stockport for the Christmas panto. Happy days!
