FESTIVAL goers are being warned of major delays entering onto the Creamfields site due to current high winds and safety concerns.

The festival organisers released a statement at 7.25am this morning, Friday, stating that there will be ‘a delay to public arenas and gates opening’.

This has been caused by the ‘high wind conditions onsite’ and attendees who arrived on site this morning are being urged to remain in their vehicles for safety reasons until the gates open.

The statement reads: “Due to the high wind conditions onsite, there will be a delay to public arenas and gates opening.

“For customers who have already arrived on site today, please remain in your vehicles for safety until gates open. We expect the high winds to pass by mid morning.

“Please follow our social channels and App notifications for updates. Thanks for your patience.”

The high winds are forecast to last for the morning but ease off into the afternoon.

Visitors who are camping are also being urged to make sure tents are pegged down correctly and that additional guy lines are used to ensure further stability during the gusty weather conditions.

They added: “We advise campers stay inside their tents during high winds for safety.

“Please secure any loose items around your campsite and within the festival grounds. High winds can cause objects to become hazardous projectiles, so keep your area tidy.”

The Creamfields team assured visitors that all temporary structures including the stage are being regularly safety checked and informed that some of these areas may be closed until they are deemed safe.
