CHILDREN and families have plenty of exciting play days ahead at a ‘revitalised’ play area.
Work has been completed on the revamp of Culcheth Village Green play area, transforming it into an exciting space with a wide range of mixed-age play resources for children.
New additions to the play area include a zip line, multi-play units, see-saws and educational panels.
Project supporters came down to celebrate the official opening of the revamped playground, while Wicksteeds Leisure, which delivered the project, gave out goodie bags to children enjoying the new equipment.
The investment is in the region of £213,000, with £140,000 of this provided by Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.
The opening of the new play area was welcomed by Cllr Tony Higgins, Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member for communities, culture and leisure.
He said: “This project has breathed new life into Culcheth Village Green play area, providing a fantastic resource for children and families to enjoy.
“As soon as the site opened, we had reports of how busy it was, so it is already being well used by the community.
“The change has been transformational, and I would like to thank everyone who has supported this project, including the parish council for the valuable funding it has provided.”
