A HIT Netflix drama which filmed scenes around Warrington has been nominated for multiple NTA awards.

Starring household favourite Michelle Keegan, Fool Me Once has scooped two nominations at the NTAs with the Our Girl star gaining one under the category of ‘best drama performance’.

The crime thriller aired on screens in January and quickly became a major hit, accumulating more than 37million viewers in the first week of its release.

After its release, eagle-eyed viewers quickly began to spot familiar locations in scenes shown throughout the drama.

This included one of the main backdrops of the show, Judith Burkett's' home named Farmwood in the programme, but known to locals as Arley Hall.

The picturesque hall, based in Appleton Thorn, had both its interior and exterior used for filming of the Netflix show.

And it was noted by the Hall that fellow member of the cast and TV royalty Joanna Lumley stayed in one of the holiday lets on the Arley estate while filming was underway – becoming a familiar face to the grounds team.

Meanwhile Burtonwood Services made an appearance in one scene during episode seven when Michelle Keegan’s character Maya Stern paid a visit to KFC.

The service station is based off the M62 in Warrington and is recognisable to most by its distinctive pointy roof.

The show has been recognised by the National Television Awards for two of its categories.

Keegan is up against the likes of actress Jessica Gunning for her praised performance as controversial character Martha in another hit Netflix series Baby Reindeer. As well as actor Toby Jones for his role of Alan Bates in the eye-opening drama Mr Bates vs the Post Office.

Meanwhile another nomination for Fool Me Once has been bagged for the category of ‘best new drama’. Competitors in this category include Red Eye, Baby Reindeer, Mr Bates vs the Post Office and One Day.

The glamorous awards ceremony will be hosted by comedian Joel Dommett at London’s O2 Arena on September 11.
