A 10-YEAR-old and his friends have taken on a challenge for a charity close to their hearts.
After being given the task of doing something for a cause by his school, Zach decided to take on a charity swim to raise money for charity.
He chose to fundraise for Warrington Animal Welfare (WAW), somewhere he has a special connection to this.
This is because four years ago, Zach and his family adopted Gunner – one of three German Shepherd puppies to be rescued by WAW.
Since then, the youngster has been a loyal supporter of WAW and has even donated some of his Christmas money to them.
Zach recently completed an impressive 16-mile swim alongside three of his friends, Lily, 9, Billy 11, and Ralph, 10.
The team raised more than £600 through the event.
“We are so proud of these young heroes for their dedication and kindness. Their efforts show that no matter your age, you can make a real difference in the lives of animals in need,” a spokesperson for the charity said.
“Thank you, Zach, Lily, Billy, and Ralph, you are all amazing.
“Let’s all be inspired by their example and find our own ways to make a difference.”
