AN ARTISAN craftsman from Penketh is set to collaborate with a tableware designer to highlight each other’s work.

David Cross, who owns Meraki Woodcraft, and Nina Daniels, who owns Nina D, and have come together to showcase their artisan tableware and dining furniture.

Inspired by her Swedish family traditions, Nina produces luxury tableware using illustrated designs, while David handmakes artisan dining furniture, including tables, benches and sideboards from Meraki’s studio on Barnard Street in Great Sankey.

“I started the Meraki business with the intention of being able to share my values of sustainability, creativity add contributing to something beyond myself,” said David.

“I use the business as a platform to promote these values and also believe that it’s really important for small businesses and consumers to help and support each other.”

David, 53, will feature tableware designed by Nina, 49, in his studio from September, giving customers an idea of how both the furniture and tableware can look in their own homes.

“We wanted to celebrate the handcrafted element of Nina D’s tableware and Meraki’s dining furniture,” said David Cross, who lives in Penketh.

“We’re both passionate about using sustainable material to create something that will last for many years to come.”
