WE are halfway through the summer holidays.
And we all know, that can mean a struggle to find things to do.
But one destination that will always entertain the kids is Knowsley Safari.
As well as a five-mile Safari drive, the UK's longest, you can see many animals on foot (including giraffes and tigers - and the new arrivals of bears) as well as enjoy rides and the ever popular seal show.
Indeed if your kids are anything like ours, they will be repeating the clean the oceans mantra of Roger and Arthur to whoever they meet.
They also loved the train which made its way through the alpacas (even having to stop while one wandered on the tracks) while the array of rides (and the fact your rarely have to queue) will keep keep them happy for hours.
And if all that wasn't enough, there are an array of extras on show right through the summer holidays.
From dragons to Bluey and bubbles to obstacle courses, there is lots to enjoy.
What can you see and when?
Bubblefest (August 18)
Bigbubbleman will fill the safari with HUGE bubbles and vast torrents of tiny bubbles that will have the whole family gasping in amazement - plus the kids can have a go too!
Dragon takeover ( August 12 – August 16)
Families can immerse themselves in an interactive world of mythical stories and entertainment. At Knight Academy, budding cavaliers can learn how to speak, act and fight like a knight, while at Princess Academy children can learn how to act like a royal – and it’s not all sitting in towers waiting to be rescued…
The Realm (August 19 – 23; August 26 – 30)
Children will love the challenge of the UK’s largest inflatable obstacle course! The massive castle-themed inflatable course is over 600ft long, with slides, tunnels and challenges galore. This adventure is almost guaranteed to tire the children out. (Entry to The Realm is an additional cost of £3 per child and £1 per adult, or free with a rides wristband).
Bluey ( August 31)
Bluey, will be visiting Knowsley Safari for one day only to meet fans of the much-loved TV show.
Ian Duke, Marketing Manager at Knowsley Safari, says: “The school holidays are a time to make memories and that’s why we’re providing several different exciting events, so there’s something new to experience every week. Youngsters will love familiar characters, The Bluey, while older children can let loose on The Realm, with the whole family lapping up the entertainment during our Dragons weeks.
“We’ve created annual memberships with monthly direct debit options to make visiting as affordable as possible and not only do members also have priority booking for popular events, they can be assured, there’ll be plenty to do and new experiences to enjoy all year round.”
Annual memberships are £69 for a child and £78 for an adult. General admission tickets start at £22.50 for an adult and £19.50 for a child, bookings must be made in advance online. For up-to-date event information and to book, please visit Knowsleysafari.co.uk.
