TWO Cheshire tourist attractions have been named “unmissable” this summer.
Chester Zoo and BeWILDerwood have made it onto the list of 50 unmissable day trips in the UK.
From cool castles and funky farms, and adventure parks and safaris, the two top destinations were named in Muddy Stilettos’ guide.
Muddy Stilettos is an insider’s guide to the very best food, walks, boutiques, day trips, hotels and event for people living outside London.
The company annual top 50 family day trips includes Chester Zoo in Chester and BeWILDerwood, which is just off the A49 near Tarporley.
Chester Zoo has more than 135,000 animals spread across 125 acres and is a conservation and education charity committed to preventing extinction of species.
You know your entrance ticket is going to a great cause.
From critically endangered orangutans to lively lemurs there’s something for all ages to enjoy on a day out.
If your kids are fans of King Julian in the Madagascar films, you’re going to need to visit!
If you want to make the visit even more exciting book an experience, such as feeding giraffes or eating breakfast overlooking the black rhino habitat.
BeWILDerwood is designed around a 70-acre forest and imaginative play.
There are slides, super long zip wires and massive sky mazes as well as rope bridges, treehouses, den-building and storytelling.
Based on the magical books written by Tom Blofeld (you can buy them in the gift shop), you’ll meet the characters along the way.
It’s aimed at children aged between two and 12 but promises fun for the whole family.
BeWILDerwood Cheshire scooped Marketing Project of the Year at the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards beating off tough competition from Chester Zoo and Tatton Park.
The outdoor woodland attraction was praised for its innovative and reactive approach to last summer’s ongoing wet weather, using its popular characters to encourage visitors to have fun even in the rain with their Make a Sploosh at BeWILDerwood campaign.
In the past three years, the popular visitor attraction was named as Best New Event for BeWILDerwood Presents Christmas and Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2022/2023.
