PEOPLE are being encouraged to take part in a fun run at Gulliver’s World in September to help raise funds for St Rocco’s Hospice.

On Sunday, September 22, the Old Hall theme park will see 1,000 runners – many in fancy dress – welcomed to the park for the Gulliver’s Family Fun Run.

For runners, entry costs £12.50, with £2.50 going directly to St Rocco’s, and the route will take participants through the resort’s thrilling rides and attractions.

Registration for the fun run starts at 9am, with warm-up at 9.30am, and the race starting from 9.45am.

Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World, said: “We are looking forward to a fantastic day and cannot wait to welcome everyone to the park – runners and non-runners.

“All runners will receive a fun run certificate at the finish line, and those in fancy dress can win competition prizes.

“Events like this are our opportunity to give something back to the community, and we want to raise as much money as possible to support the incredible team at St Rocco’s.

“The hospice has been providing palliative and end-of-life care and bereavement support for the Warrington area since opening in 1985.”

Rides and attractions will open at 10.30am on the day as normal, with the park celebrating its 35th birthday this year.

More than 50 rides, attractions, shows and activities are available, including The Wriggler, Desperado Drop and The Antelope Wooden Coaster.
