TEMPORARY traffic lights are causing chaos in town this afternoon, Tuesday.
The lights are in place on Chester Road near to the junction of Gainsborough Road.
This is to allow for Scottish Power to carry out work on Gainsborough Road which is currently partially closed both ways.
The section from A5060 Chester Road to Irwell Road is shut which is also to allow for Scottish Power to carry out works.
The road closure and temporary traffic lights, which will both be in place until Friday, August 9, are resulting in large queues in and around the area.
This is particularly for those heading in and out of town via Chester Road and Wilderspool Causeway.
