THE reopening of a swimming pool in Appleton may be in sight.
Broomfields Swimming Pool was forced to close in July after the facility faced temperature issues which made it ‘unsafe’ for swimmers.
Faulty heating sensors in the pool were found to be the route of the cause, making the temperature of the water fluctuate, a Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said.
Swimming lessons have been cancelled for the foreseeable until the issue is fixed.
In an update on the issue, the council has confirmed that the part needed to fix the temperature has been ‘specially manufactured’ and that the installation of the part has now taken place successfully.
A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson added: “We are now going through a thorough water quality testing process in advance of the pool reopening.
“We will offer a further update in the coming days.”
