A MAN was taken to hospital following a ‘police incident’ on Thelwall Viaduct.
Emergency services were called to the M6 northbound in the early hours of yesterday morning, Sunday.
This was between junctions 20 for Lymm and 21 for Woolston at around 5.30pm, following reports of concern for the safety of a man on a bridge.
He came down after an hour and was taken to hospital, with traffic being stopped temporarily while emergency services were in attendance.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 5.30am on Sunday, August 4, police were called to reports of concerns for the safety of a man on the M6 northbound at Thelwall Viaduct.
“Officers attended and the road was temporarily closed while police engaged with the man.
“The man came down from the bridge at around 6.30am and was taken to hospital.”
