A DENTAL practice has earned the praise of inspectors following a recent visit.

A report has now been published following a visit by the Care Quality Commission, or CQC, to Warrington Smile Clinic in June.

The report states that patients at the practice, on Froghall Lane in Bewsey, are ‘treated with dignity and respect’.

During the inspection, patients also commented that staff are ‘welcoming, polite and helpful’.

The CQC found that the practice provides safe care to its patients, in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance.

Patients also mentioned that they were provided clear information to help them make informed decisions about their treatment and any associated costs.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to effectively carry out their roles, the report states.

The assessment found that the dental practice had systems for the safe handling and prescribing of medicines, with NHS prescription pads kept securely, and a log was in place to monitor and track their use.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals and that their personal and cultural needs were respected. Staff were also aware of the importance of confidentiality and privacy.

The assessment revealed a culture of ongoing development, with room for improvement in the overall supervision of the service management.

It was also noted that improvements could be made to the systems which manage the risks associated with fire and legionella.

The practice responded to these concerns and complaints appropriately and effectively, inspectors said.
