THREE people have been arrested by police, two of which were found hiding in a garden following a pursuit.

Police dogs and the force helicopter were scrambled in the early hours of this morning, Thursday, after a stolen car failed to stop for officers.

Three men fled the scene following a crash, with one found hiding in a garden and another hiding under a fence panel in thick overgrowth.

All have been arrested on suspicion of offences ranging from dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, being under the influence of drugs and theft of a motor vehicle

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Police have arrested three men after they failed to stop for police in Warrington.

“At 1.14am on Thursday, August 1, police officers attempted to stop a car, which had been stolen, in Bruche Road.

“The car failed to stop and was discovered a short time later to have been in collision with two parked cars in Manchester Road.

“A search was made of the area, with the help of the police helicopter and Alliance police dogs, and three men aged 20, 22 and 26 were located and arrested.

“The 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle, no insurance and a positive drug wipe for cannabis and cocaine.

“The 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, driving without insurance and a positive drug wipe for cannabis and cocaine.

“The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, a positive drug wipe for cannabis and cocaine and a public disorder offence.”

The Cheshire and North Wales Police Dogs Unit added: “Police dog Speedy was on hand to catch one man hiding in a garden, and another hiding underneath a fence panel in thick undergrowth.”
