A BEAUTICIAN who started her business at her parents’ home after her dad built her a ‘beauty shed’ during the Covid lockdowns has launched her own salon.
When she was 17 Elisha Reynolds, from Newton-le-Willows, was delighted when dad Mark created a 'beauty shed' for her in the garden in 2020 during the Covid pandemic lockdowns.
Mark, a self-employed builder, created the shed exterior while Elisha herself saved up and funded her stock and furnishings.
This enabled Elisha to get her own business going and become established.
“I have been working from my mum and dad’s for the last few years and had a baby at the end of 2022,” said Elisha, 21, who now lives with her boyfriend and their baby son.
“I have been building my client base and I have done my teaching qualifications.”
Elisha has shown the courage to overcome her own challenges with anxiety and she had to endure being hospitalised with sepsis a few years ago, and having a kidney stone and severe infection.
And the former Hope Academy pupil’s perseverance saw her pursue her ambitions.
She has established a growing client base with her business, Elisha G Beauty, over the past few years.
With her parents Mark and Lisa due to sell their home, Elisha made the decision to launch her own salon, and take the business to the next level.
The EG Beauty & Training Academy premises was officially opened on Market Street, in Earlestown on July 13, with dignitaries in attendance.
Reflecting on the journey she has been on since 2020, Elisha said “it is crazy to think how much has happened over the past four years” and is now set on focusing on the business as her long-term career.
“The launch day was really good, the mayor came and a few councillors," added Elisha.
"One said it was the best launch for a shop he had been.
“It has been so busy.”
