ORFORD residents have been left frustrated after their black bins were not collected.

Last Thursday, those living on Dudley Street found that their household waste bins had not been emptied, despite them being left out for bin crews to take.

Warrington Borough Council has now confirmed the reason for this.

A spokesperson said that the bins were not collected due to parked cars blocking access.

They said that the bin wagon returned to the street today, Wednesday, six days later.

“We have returned this morning at 7.30am and all missed bins have now been emptied,” a WBC spokesperson said.

But one resident told the Warrington Guardian how this is not the case.

They said that themselves, and other residents, did not receive any communication on this so did not leave their bins out today, Wednesday, as this is not their normal collection day.

A Dudley Street resident told the Warrington Guardian: “We've had a letter from the council in previous months asking us to make sure bins are taken in promptly to avoid mess in the alleyway.

“So were we supposed to leave the wrong bin out on the wrong day in the hopes that the council would come and empty it?

"We had no note from them saying they were coming back round to collect them, and even if they had told us to leave them out, our bin day is a Thursday - and yet they're saying they collected missed bins on a Wednesday?

"It doesn't make sense to me, and by the next time our bin is collected the rubbish will have been sat in there for a month in 25 degree heat.

“I don't envy the binmen who come and collect it next time - if they decide to show up!”
