WARRINGTON South Labour MP Sarah Hall shares her views in her first column for the Warrington Guardian.

Just under one month ago, my life changed forever.

Our town voted for change, and I was elected as your MP for Warrington South.

I want to put on record my personal thanks to every single person who voted for me, campaigned for me and finally to every person who shared their experiences over the course of the campaign, helping to shape my priorities and put local people at the heart of everything I do.

This is a duty I do not take lightly. Serving our town in Westminster and right here in Warrington South is my number one priority.

Whether you voted for me, or not, I will work tirelessly on behalf of every resident, in every part of our town.

I will be accessible, present, and I will fight for a fair deal for Warrington South.

Our town voted for change. We voted to bring integrity back to politics, we voted to bring trust back into politics and we voted to bring honesty back to politics.

Bringing trust back into politics means I must be honest with you.

The country’s finances are in a worse state than we thought.

The Conservatives left behind an unforgiveable inheritance, a £22 billion black hole of unfunded spending commitments and overspending in this year’s budget alone.

This week, the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, provided proof that the Conservatives knowingly overspent, called an election and ran away from their problem.

The previous Government showed a lack of respect for taxpayers’ money and a disregard for the sound management of our country’s finances.

They were negligent, making commitment after commitment without knowing where the money was coming from.

Labour will be different; we will be honest. No more cover-ups, no more unfunded spending commitments.

We will fix the foundations of our economy. Rebuild Britain. And make every part of our country better off.

Accessibility, transparency, honesty, and integrity. This is how I will serve Warrington South; it is how I have started, and it is how I mean to go on.

I have already started to hold my weekly surgeries, spoken to ministers about vital local issues like Broomfields Leisure Centre, and have planned meetings on our need for a new hospital.

To arrange a surgery appointment, request help and advice, or to arrange a tour to Parliament, drop me a message to SarahHall.co.uk/contact

However, like any new MP, I am in the process of setting up my office and recruiting staff. So please bear with me! And, if your issue is important, please do flag that with me.
