TWO people have appeared in court over their refusal to obey a police direction.

Ali Mohemmed and Mohammed Aboshgrur appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court charged with failing to comply with a police direction to leave a vicinity.

This came following their behaviour towards women which was deemed to be harassment.

According to court documents, the offences were committed on June 23 on Bridge Street in Warrington town centre.

The pair were given a direction by a police constable to leave the vicinity of Bridge Street and to not return within 24 hours.

However, both defendants failed to comply with that direction by returning that same day.

Court documents state that the reason for the direction was ‘harassing females’, with Aboshgrur also said to be ‘squaring up to people’.

Both Mohemmed, aged 32 and of Happy Land North in Worcester, and Aboshgrur, aged 25 and of Wellfield Street in Whitecross, pleaded guilty to the charge.

They were both handed a conditional discharge for six months by magistrates and told they must pay a statutory victim surcharge of £26.

This means no punishment is imposed, but if they do commit another offence within the next six months, they will be brought back to court to be sentenced for both the old and new offences.
