RESIDENTS and staff at a Warrington care home are celebrating the efforts of their champion home director.
It comes after Alison Donaldson, managing director at Westvale House Care Home in Old Hall, was named the winner in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2024
Competing against the managing directors of Barchester's four other divisions, Alison raised an incredible £24,595 for Barchester's Charitable Foundation.
This foundation provides grants to enhance mobility and quality of life for vulnerable individuals and those with disabilities, helping them connect with community groups.
Alison made some fabulous dishes for her challenge on her way to defeating the competition.
First, she prepared a delicious chicken roulade stuffed with pork and apple sausage in a mushroom, shallot and Madeira sauce.
Then, she moved on to sticky toffee pudding served with clotted cream and edible flowers, both of which were very well received by the judging panel.
Jackie Bray, general manager at Westvale House, said: “We are all so proud of Alison – she really is amazing. Is there nothing she cannot do?
“Her dishes looked absolutely fantastic and she raised so much for the foundation. We think she is an absolute super star.”
