FINISHING touches are being completed ahead of the opening of a new megastore in Warrington.
Home Bargains will be moving into a new, improved and larger unit at Junction Nine Retail Park.
It comes following the completion of exterior construction work on new units towards the northern end of the site, off Winwick Road.
The units stood as just empty shells for a number of years before being completed, with the finishing touched being completed internally ahead of a grand opening within weeks.
Home Bargains is set to vacate its current unit at the retail park and move into the huge end premises.
Posters had previously been attached to the windows of the new units stating that a ‘big new store’ is opening soon, with recruitment for jobs open.
Another sign at the retail park confirms that the new Home Bargains megastore will be opening on Saturday, August 17.
Another business signed up to open at Junction Nine Retail Park is Poundland.
Planning documents submitted prior to work starting suggest that the new Home Bargains store will include a café.
They also suggest that a fourth phase of the retail park, on vacant land to the very north, could be developed going forward.
Documents add: “The land is part of a key but underutilised gateway into the town centre, as the A49 Winwick Road runs parallel to the site, connecting the M62 with Warrington town centre and the surrounding area.
“The retail park has vacancies, albeit that the position has improved in recent years through significant investment, with further occupations to follow in the northern part of the site, known as phases three and four.”
