A WARRINGTON based employer has donated hundreds of pounds aiding in the fight against prostate cancer.

Housebuilder David Wilson Homes, headquartered at Birchwood Park, has donated £500 to a PPE cycle race in Cheshire that aims to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Employees of the National Housebuilding Council rode bikes for the charity, and David Wilson Home's donation helped to raise a total of £3,775 for the cause.

NHBC inspection manager Nick Carey said: “We are very proud of our staff for participating in the bike ride and raising as much as they did.

“I would like to thank David Wilson Homes on behalf of myself and my inspection team for its generous donation to our half marathon PPE charity bike ride in support of Prostate Cancer UK.”

Claire Jarvis, managing director of David Wilson Homes north west, added: “Men’s health is of vital importance.

“We are very happy to be making this contribution towards NHBC’s fundraising activities.”

Prostate cancer affects up to one in eight men in the United Kingdom, with Prostate Cancer UK offering support to families of people impacted by the disease, in addition to helping with the initial diagnosis, care, and treatment.

The charity also organises activities that the public can participate in, like Big Blue Cycle Ride, Lake District Challenge, March for Men in London, and many more.
