POLICE have confirmed that three people have been arrested over reports of a man with a knife.

Cheshire Police says it rushed to Lymm yesterday evening, Thursday, after receiving a number of reports from members of the public.

Two men and a woman were all arrested, with officers appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Posting on social media last night, the force’s Warrington Police team said: “Following numerous calls to us regarding a man with a knife in the Lymm area, we can confirm we quickly arrested three people.

“Thank you to the members of the public who contacted us. There is no wider risk to the public, but we will increase patrols in the area for your reassurance.”

A spokesman for Cheshire Police has now confirmed: “At around 7.50pm on Thursday, July 25, police were called to reports of a man with a knife in Lymm, Warrington.

“Officers swiftly attended and arrested two men on suspicion affray, possession of a knife and assault.

“A woman was also arrested on suspicion of assault.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances, and anyone with any information, CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to get in touch.”
