AN animal rescue shelter has issued a ‘desperate appeal’ to find a home for the ‘saddest cat in its care’.
Warrington Animal Welfare, based on Slutchers Lane near the town centre, is seeking a foster home for two-year-old Harper.
She has had a ‘sad start to lie’, having been abandoned and left to raise her kittens on a garage roof.
Shelter staff say she sits alone every day and is ‘desperately unhappy’, which is why they are looking to find her a foster home.
Issuing a ‘desperate appeal’, Warrington Animal Welfare said: “We believe we have the saddest, most unhappy cat in our care at the moment.
“This beautiful two-year-old girl has had such a sad start to her life, abandoned at a young age, left unneutered outdoors, having to fend for herself and having multiple litters of kittens on a garage roof.
“Fortunately, this sad, gentle soul came in with her kittens who have been raised and rehomed.
“Harper is desperately unhappy in the rescue centre. She is missing her kittens, is very subdued and sits in her igloo alone day after day.
“We do our best to interact with her, but we do feel she needs a quiet foster home where she can adjust to a loving home environment.
“If anyone can offer Harper a lifeline where she can learn to trust humans again, we would love to hear from you.
“Harper does not have a malicious bone in her body. She is quiet, gentle and extremely shy. She has now been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.”
If you can offer Harper a calm, peaceful foster home, submit your application via warringtonanimalwelfare.org.uk/harper
