A WOMAN has been arrested after a cyclist was hit by a car in Padgate.
Officers were called to reports of an incident on Ashwood Avenue at 6.30pm on Tuesday.
Police attended and found there had been a crash between a Fiat 500 and a bicycle.
The cyclist, a 57-year-old man, did not sustain any serious or life-threatening injuries.
But the driver of the car, a 39-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving following the incident.
However, a Cheshire Police spokesperson has now confirmed that no further action is being taken regarding this.
But the woman remains under investigation for causing serious injury by careless driving, driving without insurance, and driving without a test certificate (MOT).
An emergency service presence was spotted at the scene near to Padgate Lane, including police and ambulance crews.
