A SUSPECT has been named by police after being charged with four counts of rape.

It follows an investigation by detectives from Cheshire Police following reports of sexual offences against two teenage girls.

The force has issued a statement confirming that Macauley Ellis, of Leicester Street in Whitecross, has been charged with four counts of rape.

The 19-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear before the crown court next month.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Detectives from Warrington have charged a man in connection with a number of sexual offences against two teenage girls.

“Macauley Ellis, of Leicester Street, Warrington, has since been charged with four counts of rape.

“The 19-year-old has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, August 20."

The spokesman added that the charges follow reports of alleged sexual offences against two girls aged 16 or under in Warrington.
