AN endangered animal has been born at Walton Garden’s Children’s Zoo.
The team at the zoo have revealed they had some very exciting news over the weekend.
On Saturday, a red-breasted gosling was born into the estate’s zoo family.
“This species of bird is classed as endangered in the wild and aren't resident to the UK, so we're very lucky following last year's first, that we now have another new addition to our gosling flock,” a social media post by Walton Hall and Gardens reads.
The gosling has currently been moved inside for its own safety.
But in the meantime, the zoo has shared images taken of last year’s red-breasted gosling by Darren Moston.
The zoo is free to enter and has an array of animals including alpacas, rabbits, potbellied pigs, Herdwick sheep, African pygmy goats, guinea pigs, and a colourful, eclectic mix of birds – including notoriously noisy peacocks.
It is open in all weathers.
