POLICE have launched a CCTV appeal in a bid to identify a suspected DVD thief.

Cheshire Police has issued a still image of a suspect following the alleged theft of films from HMV in Golden Square Shopping Centre.

As well as the incident in the town centre, officers believe he has been using the same method to steal DVDs from stores across the north west.

Anyone who recognises him is urged to contact Cheshire Police.

The force’s Warrington Police team said: “Officers on the town centre beat team would like help in identifying the male in the below CCTV still.

“This is in relation to an alleged theft of numerous DVDs from HMV on Monday, June 10.

“Our movie fan uses a large laptop-style bag to secrete the DVDs. We believe that this male has been active around the north west using the same modus operandi.

“Now we would like him to be a star of a police procedural of our own – The Warrington Connection.

“If you can help, call us on 101, quoting 24000519135, or email public.contact@cheshire.police.uk
