A SEX offender will be spending longer behind bars after being caught with drugs to supply on the streets of Warrington.

This is not Adam Blyth’s first spell of incarceration, having been sentenced in August 2014 for five different charges involving the rape of a child.

As part of this, the now-25-year-old was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order, which included restrictions around unsupervised time spent with children.

But the sex offender was jailed for 22 months in October last year for two breaches of this order.

He has now been locked up for longer still, having committed drug offences in June last year.

Blyth appeared to be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court, appearing via video link from prison, having been charged with possessing two types of controlled class C drugs.

He was also charged with possessing the class A drugs cocaine and MDMA with intent to supply them to other people.

The court heard how all of the offences were committed in Warrington on June 16, 2023.

Blyth was found with 53 tablets of methandienone and 27 tablets of methyltestosterone, both of which are anabolic steroids.

He was also found with 6.82 grammes of cocaine and 228 tablets of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, with the intention of supplying them to persons unknown.

Blyth, whose address was given simply as HM Prison Altcourse, was sentenced to 36 months immediate imprisonment.

The court also approved applications for the forfeiture and destruction of drugs and drug paraphernalia seized from him by police.
