TRIBUTES have been paid to a Penketh business owner.
An inquest has opened into the death of David James Ramsbottom.
The 42-year-old will be known to many as the managing director of EDR Landscape Management Solutions Ltd.
Paying tribute, Mr Ramsbottom’s brother, Ian, said: “There are few words to express the deep pain and shock of losing him.
“Our worlds have truly been shattered.
“All of you who knew him will have known him as a caring, considerate and generous soul who wore his heart on his sleeve and was the first one to help when others needed it.
“Although his life ended before we were ready, the time that he spent in our lives has left an indelible and irreplaceable mark of joy, happiness and fun that only he could have brought.”
He added: “The family would like to pass on our thanks to those of you who supported David and the family in the more recent times during his brave fight with illness. “
“To my brother David - You were, and will always be, the light of our lives. I hope you know how much we all loved you and how sorely I will miss our calls and visits. We will take it from here bean head, rest in peace.”
On July 4, Mr Ramsbottom’s colleagues visited his home address on Maple Crescent in Penketh after he failed to show up for work.
Mr Ramsbottom’s funeral took place at Walton Crematorium on Tuesday (July 23).
Last week, Senior Coroner Jacqueline Devonish formerly opened an inquest into his death, citing potentially ‘unnatural’ circumstances.
A case review will take place on September 15 ahead of the full inquest on October 25.
